Description

The linen Gili cushion blends a subtle, soft green stripe design with a softly textured finish for a laidback, understated look. Woven on traditional looms from pure linen for an organic and tactile feel, the lines blur softly between the colours for a muted natural effect. The fringed edges add to the relaxed aesthetic that will beautifully complement a natural scheme or highlight a darker sofa or armchair. Please note, this is the outer cover only. Available in two sizes.

Our Stylist Says

I really like the Gili linen cushion cover for its natural, understated aesthetic-it adds a touch of texture without overwhelming the space. Its dark green and natural tones make it versatile, perfect for pairing with muted or neutral colour schemes, especially in living rooms or bedrooms with a relaxed, earthy vibe. It works well in both contemporary and rustic interiors, adding subtle sophistication. For styling tips, I’d suggest mixing it with other linen or textured cushions in complementary colours to create a layered, inviting look. Also, its size makes it ideal for a sofa or a bed, adding comfort and a natural statement piece.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
