Description

The Fia mango wood round dining table, is the perfect place to gather with family and friends. The industrial iron legs are purposeful, sturdy and well designed with a criss - cross at their base. The table top feels chunky and the natural grain of the wood provides a soft, natural patina. Mango wood has the added eco qualities of only being harvested once the trees have stopped bearing fruit and their short-growing cycle means they provide a supplementary income for local farmers. The Fia will comfortably seat four. The mango wood table top is finished with a sealant and matt lacquer.

Our Stylist Says

I often reach for the Fia mango wood dining table for its mix of natural warmth and minimalist metal base - it sits effortlessly in Scandi, industrial or relaxed boho schemes. The subtle grain of the mango wood brings texture without overwhelming, while the slim black legs ground the design, making it easy to pair with rattan chairs or sleek upholstered seats. For styling, keep tableware simple: neutral stoneware plates, woven placemats and a low vase of dried grasses as a centrepiece. Hang a single pendant light above to define the space, and layer in linen napkins or brass candlesticks for a touch of cosiness that complements rather than competes with the table’s organic appeal.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
