Description

Good, honest design and beautiful natural materials combine in our. This simple yet striking displays the same clean aesthetic and trademark angular iron frame and woodwork that we love throughout this range. Crafted from mango wood, the natural characteristics of the grain shine through and complement – while contrasting – with the subtle colour variations that come through the patina of the iron. The generous dimensions make it ideal for creating a point of interest in the living room – use it to display favourite objects, beautiful books or a cluster of candles.

Our Stylist Says

I’ve been using the Fia coffee table for its straightforward mix of warm mango wood and slim iron legs - it adds just the right hint of contrast without feeling heavy. It sits comfortably in modern farmhouse, industrial or Scandi-inspired living rooms and works well against neutral sofas or muted rugs. Styling-wise, keep it simple: a low tray with a couple of ceramics, a small stack of books and perhaps a vase of greenery. A textured jute or wool rug underneath will emphasise its natural tones, and you can hide throws or magazines in a neat woven basket beneath for extra practicality.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
