Description

nkuku Digha Wood & Metal Table Lamp | Lamps | Dark Stain/Antique Brass

Our Stylist Says

This lamp is a great addition for those looking to incorporate warm, natural tones and a touch of industrial elegance into their space. I love how the dark stain and antique brass finish lend it a vintage, timeless appeal-perfect for adding character to both traditional and modern interiors. It works particularly well in living rooms and bedrooms where layered lighting is key, and it pairs beautifully with wooden furniture and textured fabrics. For styling, consider placing it on a sideboard or bedside table, and try to combine it with other brass accents or earthy accessories to create a cohesive, inviting look. Keep the lamp’s neutral colour palette in mind and avoid overcrowding the surface to let its craftsmanship stand out.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
