Price History

Description

The neutral, organic tones of our Deuli cushion cover make it a stylish and versatile choice. It’s crafted from a combination of sustainable linen and rich cotton, enhanced by a traditional kantha stitch. Kantha is a centuries-old form of embroidery often found in Asian cultures, with its roots in repurposed textiles. Our use of linen brings a luxurious feel, meaning this cushion cover is beautifully soft to the touch. Use it to add a sense of pared back sophistication to your home’s aesthetic.

Our Stylist Says

I love this cushion cover for its understated elegance and versatility. The natural linen adds a relaxed yet sophisticated touch, making it ideal for neutral, earthy interiors or creating a calm, minimalist look. It works well layered with textured or patterned cushions to add depth, and its 60 x 40 cm size makes it perfect for sofas, armchairs, or beds. For practical styling, pair it with other fabric tones-think soft beiges, greys, or gentle browns-and keep the overall aesthetic calm and cohesive. Its neutral palette means it can be easily refreshed with different decorative cushions or throws, making it a flexible, timeless addition to any living space.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
