Description

The natural tones of the Dasai wooden console table provide a neutral aesthetic. The piece is crafted from mango wood, a sustainable wood that has an interesting natural grain. The sandblasted finish adds texture and character. The Dasai console has a solid iron framework, that complements the wood and brings a contemporary look to the piece. The practical lower shelf is ideal for storing baskets or objet. The Dasai console table has two drawers that each have a rolled iron bar handle, forged from solid iron using age old techniques. This piece exudes quality and durability.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a big fan of this mango wood console thanks to its mix of warm timber and slim metal frame, which makes it equally at home in modern industrial settings or more relaxed Scandi-style halls. The two shallow drawers and open shelf below are perfect for corralling mail or showcasing a few favourite coffee-table books without looking cluttered. For styling, I’d hang a simple round mirror or lean a large print above to add height, then layer a small table lamp, a sculptural vase with fresh or dried foliage and a neat stack of books on the top. On the lower shelf, try a woven basket for scarves and gloves or a couple of baskets in complementary colours to keep everything tidy.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
