Description

This reed diffuser is made in the UK by a family-run business, using a bespoke fragrance created exclusively for Nkuku. Woody notes of cedarwood, aromatic smoke, and honeyed fig evoke the warmth and comfort of a crackling fireside. The vessel is finished in one of Nkuku's iconic textured styles and is designed to be reused as a small vase once the fragrance has dispersed.

Our Stylist Says

I love this reed diffuser for its understated elegance and versatile appeal. The frosted black finish adds a touch of modern sophistication, making it suitable for both contemporary and minimalist interiors. It works particularly well in spaces with neutral tones, natural textures, or industrial accents, where its muted colour can subtly complement the environment. Practical styling tips include placing it on a coffee table, sideboard, or shelf alongside natural materials like wood or stone, which enhances its earthy fragrance. Keep it away from direct sunlight and drafts to prolong its scent, and group it with other scented accessories or monochrome decor for a cohesive, well-thought-out look.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
