Description

This hand-stitched wall art draws inspiration from traditional Indian Brahmic script, reinterpreted in a creative, textural design. The calming palette of walnut, olive grey, and soft white adds a quiet, grounding presence to any living space. Framed in sustainable mango wood, it balances thoughtful craftsmanship with natural materials. Pairs beautifully with our Samaya wall art for a harmonious display.

Our Stylist Says

I love this piece for its simple, handcrafted appeal and natural texture, which adds warmth and personality to a variety of interiors. It works especially well in minimalistic or Scandinavian-inspired schemes, where its understated elegance can stand out without overpowering. For practical styling, consider pairing it with other neutral or earthy tones and placing it above a sideboard or console table for easy visual impact. It can also serve as a focal point in a gallery wall, mixed with framed prints or photographs. Keep the surrounding accessories minimal to let the hand-stitched details shine, and it’s perfect for adding a touch of artisanal charm to living rooms, bedrooms, or even a boho-inspired space.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
