Description

Elegant and timeless, the organic shape of these beautifully crafted green smoke-hued glass lamp bases would add the finishing touch to any interior. The Baba is skilfully made from recycled glass, handblown into a mould and delicately hammered to create an irregular but smooth finish. The height of these elegant lights makes them ideal for a sideboard or console. Complete the look with one of our lampshades. Small wide lamp pictured with our small sized Dia Jute Lampshade.

Our Stylist Says

I love this Nkuku Baba recycled glass in green smoke for its earthy, organic feel. Its sizeable, wide shape makes it a great statement piece on sideboards, console tables or open shelving, adding colour and texture without overwhelming a space. This lamp works particularly well in boho, coastal or rustic interiors, where its natural recycled glass complements other organic materials. Practical styling tips include pairing it with woven or linen shades to enhance its natural vibe, and setting it in rooms where ambient lighting is key-like living rooms or bedrooms. It’s versatile enough to add warmth and character, especially when combined with greenery or textured accessories.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
