Description

The Attinsi hemp and cotton rug makes an attractive centre piece. The frayed edge fringe feels tangible and fun whilst the traditionally braided hemp feels timeless and enduring. The Attinsi is the perfect blend of subtlety and texture, the neutral tones make it easy to place in a home.

Our Stylist Says

This hemp rug makes for a versatile and natural addition to both contemporary and boho-inspired interiors. I love how its neutral tones and textured surface can soften a minimalist space or add warmth to a more layered, eclectic look. It's perfect for laying under a sofa or dining table, as it brings subtle definition without overpowering the room. Practical styling tips include pairing it with earthy accessories or woven furniture for a cohesive feel, and layering it with smaller rugs or throws for extra visual interest. Its durable hemp material also makes it a sensible choice for high-traffic areas, offering both style and practicality.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
