Description

Classic and timeless, the upholstered Anbu dining chair is made from solid Acacia wood with a deep walnut finish and natural, textured linen seat. The organic curve of the frame and stark simplicity of the legs have an effortless design appeal that would look beautiful as a set around a dining table, individually at a desk or in a corner of a living space. Part of the Anbu collection.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of the Anbu chair because its gently curved acacia frame and neutral upholstered seat combine comfort with a clean, sculptural look. It sits equally well in Scandi-inspired, Japandi or mid-century modern schemes, and the washed walnut finish complements both pale and deeper wall colours. For practical styling, pair it with a simple wooden table in a similar tone, add a jute or low-pile wool rug beneath and give each leg a felt pad to protect hard floors. If you want to soften the look further, drape a slim sheepskin or muted linen throw over the back, or mix in a bench at one end of the table for a more relaxed arrangement.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
