Description

We’ve added an elegantly upholstered counter chair to our classic and timeless Anbu collection. Hand carved from solid acacia wood with a deep walnut finish and natural, textured linen seat, the organic curve of the frame and stark simplicity of the legs and footrest have an effortless design appeal that look beautiful around a kitchen counter or bar area. Part of our growing Anbu collection, this design is also available in a contrasting

Our Stylist Says

I’m really taken with the Anbu counter chair for its clean lines and gently curved backrest - it brings both comfort and a sculptural touch to your kitchen or bar area. The washed walnut finish and pale upholstered seat work equally well in Scandi-inspired spaces, modern farmhouse kitchens or even pared-back coastal interiors. For a cohesive look, pair two chairs with a simple oak or stone-topped island and introduce soft textiles - think a linen runner or woven place mats - to balance the wood tones. A small cluster of glassware or a ceramic vase with fresh herbs on your worktop will complete the styling without overcomplicating the space.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
