Description

Classic and timeless, the Anbu counter stool is made from solid Acacia wood with a deep walnut finish. The organic curve of the seat and stark simplicity of the frame have an effortless design appeal that would look beautiful individually, or as a set along a kitchen counter or island. Part of the Anbu collection.

Our Stylist Says

I love this stool for its simple yet timeless design, which makes it versatile across a range of interior styles from rustic to modern. The washed walnut finish adds warmth and natural texture, making it a great choice for kitchens or breakfast bars that aim for an earthy, inviting vibe. Practical styling tips include pairing it with other wooden finishes or textured upholstery to create a cohesive look, while its compact size allows it to be easily tucked away when not in use. It's ideal for informal settings and works well both in open-plan spaces and cozy corners, adding functionality without sacrificing style.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
