Description

A contemporary and subtle design in faded shades, the Anaisha rug brings a fresh, neutral look to your home. Woven using a jacquard weaving process that raises each warp thread separately, the intricate patterning is a highlight of this design. Jute is one of our favourite natural materials at Nkuku; we love it for being completely biodegradable and recyclable, and beautifully hardwearing with a smooth finish. About your new rug We recommend John Lewis & Partners Rug Hold Underlay. It prevents your rug from moving underfoot and protects against colour transfer to the floor Natural fibres may shed. This will reduce over time, and should not have an impact on the lifespan or performance of your rug When vacuuming your rug, use suction only. Rotating brushes may damage the fibres Blot any spills with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub or use harsh detergents. Jute is a natural fibre meaning colour variance is expected both in its natural form and when dyed. This means each rug could have a slightly different tone, making your new rug unique.

Our Stylist Says

I love this rug for its neutral, versatile palette and subtle pattern, making it a great foundation for both contemporary and boho interiors. The natural tones work well with a variety of colour schemes, from soft pastels to richer, earthy tones. It's ideal for adding warmth and texture under a dining table, in a lounge, or even as a marquee piece in a bedroom. Practical styling tips include layering it with smaller rugs or runners for added depth, or pairing it with woven or wooden furniture to enhance its organic vibe. Its size makes it flexible for different room layouts, and its understated design means it won't compete with statement pieces but will instead complement and anchor your space.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
