The Nkuku Alera side table is as practical as it is stylish. The framework is soldered from iron, offering a sturdy frame that is built to last. The leather compartment offers space for books and magazines while adding to the beautiful aesthetic of the piece.<>p> The tabletop is made from solid mango wood. All the materials used are sustainably sourced. The leather used is goat leather, a by-product, which is naturally dyed with vegetable extract and tree bark resulting in a more durable leather that will enrich over time. The mango wood used to make Nkuku's wooden pieces come from mango trees that have stopped bearing fruit. This allows the farmers to plant more trees and provides them with a supplementary income. Nkuku works with artisans throughout the world, combining timeless design with traditional skills and natural materials. Want to see it first? I’m a fan of this mango-wood and leather side table because it brings natural warmth without feeling fussy. The slim iron frame and leather sling for magazines keep it light and practical, so it works really well in a Scandi-inspired living room, a rustic-modern study or even a pared-back hallway. For styling, try topping it with a simple ceramic lamp and a small stack of coffee-table books. The leather pocket is perfect for your current reads or newspapers, so it’s both decorative and functional. Because of its compact footprint, you can slot it next to an armchair or beside a narrow sofa without overcrowding the space.
