Description

The Adembi woven leather counter-height stool is rich with character, from the weathered tone of the leather to the tactile woven pattern of its seat. The counter stool frame is crafted from acacia wood and finished with a textured sandblasted finish. Goat leather is an enduring material that enhances with use over time, and its durability makes it ideal for everyday use, while the tangible qualities make it comfortable and supportive. The woven pattern will add character to any kitchen or home bar space.

Our Stylist Says

I’m a fan of this woven leather counter stool for its straightforward blend of natural oak and warm, hand-woven leather - it brings texture without fuss. It works brilliantly in Scandi or modern-farmhouse kitchens, and equally well in a pared-back industrial space where the leather softens concrete or metal surfaces. For styling, keep the palette neutral: team it with stone or timber countertops and a few potted herbs or grasses. If you need extra comfort, a slim seat pad in a muted linen tone works well without hiding the weave. Mix with a couple of darker stools to create visual contrast, or line up two identical pieces for a clean, balanced look.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
