Description

Our best-selling Abe armchair has arrived this season in a beautifully soothing olive green. The generous proportions and deconstructed design give the piece a relaxed feel that will look at home in any scheme. Light, natural tones of the mango wood frame complement the hessian back, sides and base, while the slubby linen upholstery and separate cushion bring supreme comfort to this roomy chair, perfect for curling up with a good book and staying there all day.

Our Stylist Says

The Nkuku Abe deconstructed linen armchair is a stylish choice for adding a relaxed yet sophisticated touch to any room. I love its understated design and the natural linen fabric, which works beautifully in both contemporary and rustic interiors. It’s especially versatile in living rooms that aim for a cosy, laid-back vibe or in a reading nook where comfort is key. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral tones or subtle textures to emphasise its calm, earthy appeal. A complementary cushion or throw can also enhance its cosy feel without overpowering its elegant simplicity. This armchair's understated charm makes it a practical and aesthetically pleasing addition to various interior schemes.

About Nkuku

Established in 2003, Nkuku offers ethically sourced, handcrafted, and eco-friendly homewares and furniture. Their pieces introduce an element of rustic elegance to your space, perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Story of Nkuku

Inspired by the artisans they met during a world trip in 2002, Ali and Alex established Nkuku, a brand that celebrates handmade techniques and traditional skills from artisans across the world.

The journey began with a business plan drafted on a beach, with the name "Nkuku" taken from a Zambian village they passed.

Starting in Devon, they initially sold products from their travels at local markets. Eventually, Nkuku transitioned from a wholesale business to a known retail brand, offering a wide range of homewares, from tableware to furniture.

Values and Ethical Commitment

Nkuku is not just about selling products; it's about values. They are committed to an ethical approach, partnering with independent businesses, social projects, and cooperatives. Their focus? Building transparent, strong relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual success.

They're also environmentally conscious, incorporating natural and recycled materials into their products. From golden hemp and reclaimed mango wood to textiles recycled from old t-shirts, Nkuku champions sustainability and eco-friendly production methods.

Sustainability at Its Heart

Every Nkuku product tells a tale, capturing the essence of traditional, handmade craftsmanship. By embracing low-impact production methods, they bring collections that are individually crafted, ensuring each piece is unique.

The brand cherishes the age-old knowledge passed down through generations of artisans. It's not just about home décor for them; it's about keeping a rich heritage alive and celebrating the beauty of handmade uniqueness.
