Price History

Description

Design. The Nixie Coffee Table has an understated traditional feel thanks to the light natural walnut wood, but has been modernised and given its own distinctive flair thanks to the antique mirrored front. All eyes will be on the Nixie Coffee Table, but it is also every bit as practical as it is stylish, displaying a handy storage space to help you keep TV remotes and magazines neatly stored away.

Our Stylist Says

This coffee table in neutral walnut offers a sleek, contemporary look that works well in both modern and mid-century-inspired interiors. I love how its warm wood tone complements a variety of colour schemes and adds a touch of natural elegance. It's particularly versatile; it pairs beautifully with soft textiles in muted shades or bold statement pieces to create balanced styling. Practical tips include styling with a mix of decorative trays, candles, or books to keep surfaces functional yet curated. Its understated design and subtle detailing make it a great anchor piece in a living room, especially for spaces that embrace a minimalist or Scandinavian aesthetic.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
