The Ninua bedding by V&A is trimmed with a bold pattern based on a Persian design included in Owen Jones' sumptuous collection of patterns The Grammar of Ornament published in 1856. Featuring a geometric floral hexagon pattern embroidery translated through a solid stitch technique placed in a U shape on the front of duvet in shades of blue and white finished with a plain dye reverse. Made with 200 thread count 100% cotton percale and sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). Available in single double king and super king sizes finished with a concealed transparent button opening along the bottom. Oxford and square single pillowcases each with the same design are sold separately. Machine washable tumble dry safe.
The Ninua embroidered floral bedding brings a lovely touch of heritage charm to a bedroom, pairing beautifully with both classic and contemporary interiors. I love it because of its timeless floral embroidery in soothing blue and white tones, which creates a calm, inviting atmosphere. It works particularly well in schemes that incorporate natural textures or coastal-inspired palettes, adding just the right amount of pattern and colour without overwhelming the space. Practical styling tips include layering with textured throws and cushions to enhance the embroidery detail, and pairing with solid-coloured or subtle patterned bedding to allow the design to stand out. It’s a versatile piece that can elevate both understated schemes and more styled-up, boutique-style bedrooms.
