An abstract work giving the sense of theatre curtains parting and drama about to begin, 'au Theatre' is by Nils Jean. Museum-quality framed and glazed in the UK, this fine art print is ready to hang on your wall. Language and memory are recurrent themes in Nils Jean's paintings. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London (Ph D in Visual Communication), Jean approaches painting as a form of writing. His work combines visual diaries and analytical explorations of art movements such as Cubism, Fauvism and Conceptual Art. Working in acrylic on canvas, Jean's strong use of colour and pattern are influenced by his time studying fashion at Studio Berçot in Paris and subsequently working as a womenswear designer, prior to moving to London to focus on the arts. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?
I love this piece because its bold, energetic colours and abstract shape make it a striking focal point in any room. The red and multi tones lend themselves well to contemporary and eclectic interiors, especially when paired with neutral furnishings to let the artwork stand out. It works really well in living rooms, dining areas, or even a modern home office. For styling tips, consider layering with other art or textured accessories, and keep surrounding decor minimalist to highlight its visual impact. The black frame adds a sleek finish that complements both modern and more understated interiors.
