Description

Vibrant and bold, this Nifty Planter was designed and handcrafted by The Basket Room in Kenya as a striking home for your favourite plant. With striking, geometric patterns inspired by local tribal designs, the planter is hand-woven by craftspeople from Kenya’s Kamba tribe, using a local twining method. Each planter takes days to craft, and features a unique pattern designed by its maker. A craft as old as mankind, traditional basket weaving inspired Camilla and Holly to found The Basket Room and support local weavers. In supporting these East African communities, the workers benefit from fair wages, dignified working conditions and the ability to work alongside their other roles. Please note: Due to the handcrafted nature of these planters, no two are the same. On. E colourway will be selected for you at random when ordered online; a lucky dip, if you will.

Our Stylist Says

I love this basket for its vibrant colour and tactile knit texture, which adds warmth and personality to a space. It's particularly effective in cosy, eclectic interiors or as a statement piece in a neutral setting to introduce a pop of colour. The Nifty Planter works well with a variety of plants-think trailing greens or bold succulents-creating an inviting, lived-in look. For practical styling tips, try pairing it with other woven or textile accessories to build layered, tactile interest. It's also versatile enough to serve as storage for throws, magazines, or accessories, making it both functional and stylish.
