Description

Discover the artisanal elegance of the Okinawa 40 hanging lamp. Skilfully crafted from bamboo, its organic design is accentuated by flared shapes and clean lines making it a must-have addition to any terrace or garden. Fitted with a 3-metre cord, lampshade, and a portable, rechargeable cherry bulb, the Okinawa 40 doesn't require installation – simply place the cherry bulb near the metal area of the lampshade and its magnetic base ensures a secure attachment. With the remote control included, you can easily toggle the lamp on and off and adjust its brightness. Emitting 900 lumens of radiant light, it provides illumination for 6 to 20 hours, depending on intensity – ideal for enhancing any outdoor ambiance. Rechargeable battery.

Our Stylist Says

I really like the look of the Newgarden Okinawa 40; it offers a modern, natural aesthetic thanks to its wooden slatted design, which adds warmth to outdoor spaces. It works particularly well in relaxed settings like patio gardens or outdoor dining areas, creating a soft, ambient glow without overwhelming the space. For styling, consider hanging it above a dining table or lounging area to define the space, and pair it with other natural or wicker elements to enhance the organic vibe. Since it’s rechargeable, it’s great for versatility - you can easily move it around or hang it in different spots without the need for wiring, making it as practical as it is stylish.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
