Description

Design. With a gorgeous industrial style that you can just sink into, the Michigan Loveseat features a minimalist design that blends leather textures and iron feet with a bronze finish to achieve a distressed look that adds urban edge to any space. At home surrounded by raw brickwork and reclaimed woods, place this stunning loveseat in your conservatory or living area for glorious place to kick back and relax; and with cushion interiors that combine fixed foam and layered fibre for ultimate sumptuous comfort, you’ll never want to get up.

Our Stylist Says

The New Michigan Loveseat strikes a great balance between contemporary style and classic comfort, making it versatile for a range of interiors. I love its clean lines and elegant silhouette, which work particularly well in modern or minimalist spaces, but it can also bring a touch of sophistication to more eclectic or vintage-inspired rooms. For styling, consider pairing it with textured cushions or throws in neutral or muted tones to enhance its understated charm, or add a few bold accent pieces for visual interest. Its size is ideal for smaller living rooms or as part of a larger seating arrangement, and the slender legs give it a light, airy feel that won't overpower the space. This loveseat is a practical choice that combines comfort with a refined aesthetic.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
