Description

Design. This rustic dining chair is made from mango wood which gives the pieces a warm and mellow tone. This stylish dining room chair has been given a cleverly distressed finish which gives this design an essentially rustic feel. With clean lines and simple detailing, the new Frontier Dining range has a stylish and contemporary feel. There are three styles of dining table to choose from - a round end dining table, square end table and a modern x-frame dining table. With two different styles of dining chair, this range is highly versatile and ideal for 21st century living. This item is part of the Trees 4 Trees project. Read more. Here.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its warm, natural timber and versatile silhouette, making it a great addition to casual or rustic dining spaces. The mango wood's rich grain and organic finish add character, while its straightforward design pairs well with both modern and traditional interiors. Practical styling tips include layering with textured or patterned cushions for added comfort and visual interest, especially in more formal settings. It works particularly well in open-plan kitchens, country-style cottages, or relaxed dining areas where a touch of natural materials can soften the overall look. To keep it looking its best, consider applying a protective finish, especially if you have spills or high traffic.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
