Description

Design. This rustic Beidermeier dining chair with arms is made from mango wood which gives the pieces a warm and mellow tone. This stylish armchair has been given a cleverly distressed finish which gives this design an essentially rustic feel. With clean lines and simple detailing, the new Frontier Dining range has a stylish and contemporary feel. There are three styles of dining table to choose from - a round end dining table, square end table and a modern x-frame dining table. With two different styles of dining chair, this range is highly versatile and ideal for 21st century living. This item is part of the Trees 4 Trees project. Read more. Here.

Our Stylist Says

I love the hotel-style feel of the new frontier chair, especially with its mango wood frame and contemporary cross-back design. It works particularly well in rustic or boho interiors, where natural materials and warm tones are key, but it can also add an interesting contrast in more minimal or modern spaces. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a neutral or textured fabric seat to soften the look and make it more comfortable, or mixing it with other wooden pieces for a layered, curated aesthetic. It’s versatile enough to be used in dining rooms, kitchens or even as an occasional chair in living areas-just remember its natural finish lends itself best to spaces that celebrate wood or earthy palettes.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
