Originally hand-woven by the Tutsi people of Rwanda, these remarkable vessels are more than just storage; they are functional works of art. Each basket tells a story of tradition, patience, and meticulous skill, passed down through generations of Rwandan weavers. Authentic Heritage:These are genuine vintage pieces, boasting the unique character, slight imperfections, and rich patina that only time can create. Natural Materials: Traditionally hand-coiled using locally sourced sisal fibers, raffia, and sweetgrass, dyed with organic pigments to achieve their earthy, muted tones. The Statement Planter: Use a larger basket as a decorative "cachepot" for your plant (just remember to use a waterproof liner!). Size H 27cm W 31cm D 31cm Dry Cleaning Preferred:Regular brushing is usually sufficient. Spot Cleaning: Use a slightly damp (not wet) white cotton cloth to blot gently. Do not rub, as this can damage the fibers. Avoid Submerging: Unlike some coarser baskets (like Bolga baskets), delicate, finely woven Tutsi baskets should not be soaked in water, as this can distort the shape and damage the delicate, dyed fibers.
