Description
An exclusive collaboration with Maison Rogue. Our design inspiration began with a look at vintage ashtrays, objects that created nostalgia for passatempos. The piece to bring us back to our rizes ("roots" in Greek). Marble veins flowing like tree roots transport us to Greek summers in tiny mountain villages. The working hands of our grandparents, darkened by the picking of tobacco. The twisting of a cigarette in the town square with bouzouki music ringing through the summer night. The wisp of our grandmother's skirt as she danced to her favorite song. The click of a lighter next to sugary chunks of watermelon. The extinguishing of a cigarette in early morning hours, indicating the stories of the night had come to a close. And at the heart of it all, an ashtray, always at the center.
