The Nadia natural handwoven rattan double bed combines rattan stems in different thicknesses for a light, airy design with a distinctive shape. Designed in house by Matt Long, the bed banishes all thoughts of traditional 70s rattan designs with a headboard and footboard that wrap around the edge of the mattress. Also available as a kingsize bed, the bed frame is formed and constructed in Indonesia by skilled craftsmen, who steam the rattan stems to make them pliable before shaping around moulds. The bed is part of the Nadia bedroom furniture range, which lends itself both as inspiration for a tropical scheme or as a textural foil to a sumptuous luxe décor.
I love this handwoven rattan bed for its natural, relaxed aesthetic which works beautifully in both boho and Scandi-inspired interiors. Its light, airy design creates a sense of space and can be styled effortlessly with neutral bedding and textured throws for a cosy yet contemporary feel. Practical styling tips include pairing it with layered bedding and adding a mix of textured cushions for comfort, or placing it against a wall with a statement artwork above to create a focal point. The natural rattan finish makes it versatile, so it blends well with both wood tones and minimalist colour schemes, making it a great choice for creating calm and inviting bedroom spaces.
