Description

The Nadia natural handwoven rattan bedside table with shelf is a light, airy design with a distinctive contemporary shape. Part of the Nadia bedroom furniture range, designed in house by Matt Long, the bedside table can be used to add textural interest to an existing scheme. The bedside table is formed and constructed in Indonesia by skilled craftsmen using rattan stems in different thicknesses, which are steamed to make them pliable before shaping them around moulds.

Our Stylist Says

I love this little bedside table for its natural, handwoven rattan charm - it adds warmth and texture to a variety of interiors. It works particularly well in boho, coastal, or Scandi-inspired schemes where organic materials shine. Its open shelving is both practical and aesthetic, perfect for displaying lamps, books, or decorative items. For styling tips, consider pairing it with soft, neutral bedding and some greenery or woven accessories to enhance its natural look. It’s versatile enough to work in a bedroom, but also great as a side table in a living space, bringing a relaxed, handcrafted vibe wherever it’s placed.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
