Designed by Morris in 1876, Pimpernel is one of Morris’ greatest designs. With its mirrored symmetry and curling stems circling wind-swept flowers, this glorious rug retains all the detail of the original Morris design whilst at the same time creating a totally different look. The design has been enlarged in scale and repainted in soft watercolour tones. The playful, intertwining design inspired by nature runs throughout this wool-rich, hand-tufted rug which has an intricate multi-dimensional look and feel. About your new rug We recommend. It prevents your rug from moving underfoot and protects against colour transfer to the floor Shedding is a natural characteristic of wool particularly on new rugs. This will reduce over time and will not affect your rug's performance. Vacuum clean regularly to reduce the shedding. When vacuuming your rug, use suction only. Rotating brushes may damage the fibres Blot any spills with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub or use harsh detergents. Latex backed therefore not suitable for underfloor heating. Specialist cleaning recommended.
I love the Morris & Co. Pimpernel Rug for its timeless, intricate pattern that adds character without overwhelming a space. It's particularly versatile, working well in traditional or vintage-inspired interiors, but can also serve as a striking contrast in more modern settings. When styling, consider pairing it with neutral or muted furnishings to let the rug's detailed design stand out, or combine it with antique or botanical accessories for a cohesive look. Practically, it’s ideal for living rooms or bedrooms where you want to introduce warmth and pattern without a heavy footprint-just ensure your flooring underneath is even to keep the rug looking its best.
