Description

Designed in 1876, Crown Imperial is one of the most sophisticatedly formal patterns in the Morris & Co. repertoire. The intricate floral and trellis design is woven across this sumptuous Jacquard cotton-linen blend. Set against the soft neutral and reddish tones of Madder Red, the colour harks back to the organic plant dyes used to create warming red hues during William Morris's time. Please note that duvet covers and pillowcases are sold singly and not in sets. Bedding sizes To fit duvet/pillow size (cm) Oxford pillowcase to fit 50cm x 75cm excluding frill Single duvet cover to fit 135cm x 200cm Double duvet cover to fit 200cm x 200cm Kingsize duvet cover to fit 225cm x 220cm Super kingsize duvet cover to fit 260cm x 220cm

Our Stylist Says

I love this bedding set for its classic, intricate pattern that brings a touch of vintage elegance to any bedroom. It works particularly well in traditional or Victorian-inspired interiors, but can also serve as a statement piece in more modern settings when styled with neutral or muted tones. Practical styling tips include pairing it with crisp white or matching-rich tones in cushions and throws to enhance its detailed design. It's also versatile enough to layer with textured fabrics like velvet or linen to create a cosy yet sophisticated look. Overall, this piece is a great way to add both character and refinement to your sleep space.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
