Description

A real compendium of works from Arts & Crafts legends, Brophy Embroidery combines patterns from Andrew Brophy (1844-1912) and May Morris (1862-1938), daughter of William. Maintaining Brophy's curved trellis structure, Morris & Co. has placed May's playful floral and leaf motif to add delicate notes of natural whimsy. A seamless meeting of design styles, the resulting bedding features an embroidered design made with luxurious 100% cotton percale and finished with fine cord piping. Please note that duvet covers and pillowcases are sold singly and not in sets. Bedding sizes To fit duvet/pillow size (cm) Oxford pillowcase to fit 50cm x 75cm excluding frill Double duvet cover to fit 200cm x 200cm Kingsize duvet cover to fit 225cm x 220cm Super kingsize duvet cover to fit 260cm x 220cm

Our Stylist Says

I love the Brophy Embroidery Bedding in sage for its versatile and calming colour palette, which works beautifully in both classic and contemporary interiors. It’s a great choice for adding a touch of understated pattern and texture without overwhelming the space. I’d suggest pairing it with linen or crisp white sheets for a fresh, relaxed look, or layering with soft throws and cushions in complementary tones to create a cosy, layered feel. This duvet cover works well in bedrooms that aim for a peaceful retreat, especially in spaces with natural, muted tones or botanical-inspired decor. Practical tip: due to the embroidered detail, it’s best to wash on a gentle cycle to keep the embroidery looking pristine.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
