Description
Created in the Habitat design studio with laidback living in mind, the Mori 3-seater velvet orange sofa combines generous proportions with a sleek silhouette. Designed with curved armrests and contrasting thin wooden legs, the sofa’s clean lines give a nod to Japanese minimalism. It’s finished with a blend of foam and fibre wrap seat cushions to ensure the upmost comfort. Upholstered in our easy velvet fabric which is super durable and spill-resistant, it’s perfect for busy homes. It’s also available in other colours, fabrics and 2 and 3 seater options. Mori’s compact size means it’s great for small spaces, but before making your decision be sure to read our Sofa Measuring Guide to ensure this sofa will fit into your home. And once delivered to you, remember to plump and rotate your cushions regularly to keep your sofa looking its best.
Our Stylist Says
The sofa's bold orange velvet finish makes it a real statement piece, ideal for adding colour and texture to a contemporary or eclectic interior. I love how versatile it is; it pairs well with neutrals for a modern pop or rich jewel tones for a more layered look. Practical styling tips include balancing its strong hue with muted cushions or throws, and keeping accessories minimal to let the sofa shine. Its plush velvet texture invites comfort, making it perfect for relaxed living spaces or lively family rooms, where its vibrant colour can be a focal point and conversation starter.

The Birth of Habitat
In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.
The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.
Rapid Expansion & Legacy
Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.
The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.
Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.
Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.
Innovation & Collaboration
Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.
Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
