The armchair is a retro-inspired design with compact proportions, making it perfect for smaller spaces. Designed by our in-house team, the sofa features beech legs and comes in a variety of colours. Our Stylist Says

This teal armchair is a versatile piece that works well in both contemporary and mid-century inspired interiors. I love how the blue-toned fabric adds a pop of colour without overpowering the space, making it ideal for neutral lounges or eclectic schemes. Practical styling tips include pairing it with soft throw cushions and a textured rug to add layers of comfort and visual interest. Its wooden feet offer a warm, natural touch that complements wooden flooring or furniture, giving the overall look a cohesive feel. Perfect for creating a cosy reading nook or as a statement accent piece, it's both stylish and functional.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
