Description

Practical, attractive and eco-friendly, what more could you want in a coffee table? Blending rustic good looks with a mid-century appeal, the Modi features chic brass coloured handles and retro, flared legs. Made from reclaimed wood, its natural knots and grains are wonderfully accentuated by its warm rustic saddle tan finish. Its four handy drawers offer ample concealed storage space whilst its open lower shelf provides the perfect perch for your favourite books and magazines.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Modi reclaimed wood coffee table for its authentic, rustic charm and versatile appeal. Its warm, weathered finish makes it a great focal point in both modern and eclectic interiors, adding texture and character to the space. It's well-suited for casual living rooms, scandinavian schemes, or even boho setups, where natural materials are key. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral-toned sofas and layered textiles to enhance its organic vibe. Practical tips include using its open shelf for baskets or books to keep the surface clutter-free, while the drawers are perfect for remote controls or small accessories. Overall, it’s a robust piece that brings a touch of nature indoors whilst remaining functional and stylish.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
