I’m a fan of this pared-back side table for its sleek black frame and warm oak top - the two open shelves mean you get extra storage without it feeling bulky. It works particularly well in Scandi-inspired, industrial or minimalist schemes, where the contrast between metal and wood adds just the right amount of texture.
For styling, I’d pop a small lamp or a sculptural vase on top, then use the middle shelf for a neat stack of books and the bottom for a woven basket to corral magazines or throws. Its compact footprint also makes it ideal beside a sofa or as a bedside table in a guest room.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
