I’m a fan of this black-and-silver Venetian mirror (often called the Windrush mirror) because its triple-bevelled edges give a clean, modern edge to a classic shape. It works equally well in a monochrome hallway as it does above a painted sideboard in a living room or even over a slim bathroom vanity. For styling, hang it at eye level and flank it with simple wall lights to pick out the silver detailing, or lean it against the wall on top of a console table layered with a couple of ceramic vases and a stack of coffee-table books. Its generous 90×60cm size makes a room feel brighter without overwhelming a smaller space.
