This desktop sized version of Gerrit Rietveld's Red and Blue Chair is part of a miniature collection of the most important classics of modern furniture history. Rietveld conceived each piece of furniture as an ideal, abstract composition of surfaces and lines in space. The construction, materials and colours correspond perfectly to the historical Vitra Design Museum Collection original and in some cases were assisted by the designers to develop the miniatures. The miniatures are not only valuable collector items but are also ideal illustrative material for universities and colleges.
