"Here is the "MINI" version of the famous "Marseille Lamp", a design icon created by Le Corbusier, finally reissued! A genius architect and designer, Le Corbusier created the “Cité Radieuse” in Marseille, a residence built between 1945 and 1952. From its conception, this experimental building tried to materialise a new form of city: a "vertical village" called a "Housing Unit". The Cité Radieuse is today classified as a historical monument. Le Corbusier even designed the lights in the apartments of his “city”. In 1954, he created the "Marseille Lamp" which he had installed in the model apartments to optimise their lighting. Reissued by Nemo, this wall light is a symbol of 1950s modernism. Inspired by the industrial lighting of the time, this wall light has a lampshade made up of two asymmetrical cones holding two light sources. The lighting is both direct (directed downwards) and indirect (directed towards the ceiling). The MINI Marseille Lamp lets you direct the light with great precision thanks to its long swivel arm which has two joints. This wall light is fitted with an electric cable with a plug on the end to connect to the mains (on/off switch on the cable). The cable is removable if you want to plug the light directly into the wall. ".
