Description
The autumn hues and tranquillity of this still water reflection are magically captured by photographer Mike Shepherd. Playing on perception, the reflection through the trees and the colour of the sky create a dynamic image. This print is unglazed with an artist's acrylic gel texture applied by hand and comes framed, ready to hang on your wall. Mike Shepherd's beautiful photography aims to achieve a clear description of natural design and elemental simplicity in the landscape. He explores inner light, essence and ideal form. His images are simultaneously realistic and impressionistic. Born in London in 1964, Shepherd took up photography on his sixteenth birthday. A Lancaster University graduate, he came out with a first-class honours degree in Eastern art and architecture, going on to teach photography, digital imaging and digital art at the same university. After this, he embarked on his now full-time career as a landscape photographer, where he is strongly influenced by the American landscape monochrome tradition. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?
Our Stylist Says
I love this woodland reflection print for adding a splash of colour and a calming natural vibe to a space. Its vibrant yellow and multicoloured tones make it especially suited for rooms with neutral or earthy palettes, where it can act as a focal point. It works well in living rooms, bedrooms, or even hallways, particularly where you want to bring in a touch of nature. Practical styling tips include framing it alongside wooden or natural textures to enhance the woodland theme, or pairing with minimalist furnishings to let the artwork stand out. Because of its sizeable 63 x 83cm format, it's best placed at eye level above a sofa, console table, or bed to maximise impact. Overall, it’s a versatile piece that adds colour, interest, and a connection to nature to any interior.

About John Lewis
A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion
John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.
Adapting to Changing Times
Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.
Commitment to a Greater Purpose
John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
