Description
Designed by Nani Marquina for her eponymously-named Spanish design house, the Mía Rug in navy is available in two different sizes. The flat-weave rug has been expertly hand-loomed by skilled artisans in India using a hand-spun fabric composed of 100% New Zealand wool and completed with fringing in the same navy-blue hue. A contemporary interpretation of a traditional Dhurrie, this rug is created using three individual pieces that have each been dyed to create a unique finish. Handcrafted on traditional horizontal looms, Dhurries are renowned for their incredible colours and intricate, inimitable designs. Founded in 1987 by Nani Marquina, the daughter of pioneering Spanish designer Rafael Marquina, nanimarquina blends contemporary designs with traditional techniques to create unique and eye-catching handcrafted rugs. Nanimarquina collaborates with prestigious international designers to design unique rugs and crafts them with particular attention to selecting quality raw materials. Conscious of its societal and environmental impact, nanimarquina places ethics at the forefront of its production process. Passionate about reusing, reducing and recycling, it aims to preserve natural resources through the use of biodegradable and recycled products. It uses an eco-friendly chemical-free washing method that enriches the environment with nitrogen and uses less water than traditional cleaning methods. All nanimarquina rugs incorporate the Care & Fair logo, an organisation that guarantees products are manufactured free of child labour. Care instructions: Can be dry cleaned.
