I’m a fan of this metal hall tree because the slim black frame and rustic-brown seat bring an industrial edge without crowding a small hallway or porch. The twin rows of hooks handle coats, hats and bags, while the two-tier rack beneath neatly houses shoes or woven baskets. It works equally well in a city-pad entrance or a country cottage mudroom, marrying modern lines with warm timber detail.
For styling, top the bench with a neutral linen cushion for comfort, then place matching baskets on the lower shelves to corral scarves and gloves. Hang a slim, frameless mirror above to boost light and keep surrounding floorspace clear for easy in-and-out traffic.
