I’m a fan of this console’s clean-lined metal frame and warm brown shelves - it brings an easy industrial edge without feeling cold. The stepped shelving adds visual interest and gives you spots for books, baskets or a small plant, making it as practical as it is stylish.
It works particularly well in modern, loft-style or Scandinavian-inspired interiors, but you can soften it for a more traditional hallway by adding woven baskets, a ceramic lamp and a round mirror above. In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
