Designed by Christophe Pillet in 2004, the Meridiana chair has become a classic in the Driade collection. Now it’s back with a new version with a base in solid ash, natural or stained black. Reminding us of a diamond, the exterior of the polycarbonate shell is decorated with subtle relief patterns. The ribs intertwine in a subtle play of reflections and brilliance, like a mesh trapped in the material or a diamond with a thousand facets. The enveloping shell matches the shape of the body for excellent comfort.
I love this chair for its clean, modern silhouette and the mix of natural wood with a sleek white finish - it’s a versatile piece that can elevate both contemporary and Scandinavian-inspired interiors. Its understated yet stylish design works well in dining rooms or open-plan kitchens, especially when paired with other natural textures such as timber or woven accessories. For styling, consider combining a set with neutral-toned tableware and soft textiles to create a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. It’s also practical enough to work in a minimalist office or reading nook, where the understated aesthetic keeps the space feeling light and airy. The wooden legs add warmth and stability, making it a reliable everyday choice with a subtle architectural appeal.
