Description
The Melt Slim Floor Light is a beautifully distorted floor light with an integrated LED module. The Melt collection features an avant-garde design that undergoes a mesmerising optical transformation, shifting from a hyper-reflective mirror finish when off to a translucent, hot-blown glass effect with a rich depth when illuminated. Made in Germany using high-tech manufacturing, this striking series pairs cutting-edge engineering with organic form to manipulate light and reflection, creating a dramatic focal point.
Our Stylist Says
I love the Melt Slim Cone Floor Light for its sleek, contemporary silhouette that adds a sculptural element to any space. Its minimalist design works beautifully in modern, industrial, or even pared-back Scandi interiors. The reflective, smoky glass top provides a warm glow that creates cosy ambiance without overpowering a room. Practical styling tips include positioning it in an empty corner or next to a reading chair to add soft, focused lighting, or using it as a statement piece in a minimalist hallway. Its slender form and understated aesthetic also make it versatile enough to complement both colour-rich and neutral palettes, making it a great all-rounder in stylish, thought-out interiors.

About Tom Dixon
From Bass Guitar to Design Guru
Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.
By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.
But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.
Master of Materials
Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.
Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.
His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.
More Than Just Products
Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.
From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
