Description
With its soft, curved, organic shape, Melt reminds us of a drop of molten glass or metal! Tom Dixon got together with the Swedish collective Front to create this "distorted" collection with its fascinating optical effect: when it is lit, Melt becomes completely hypnotic! This deformed sphere is made of an innovative material: a clever blend of polycarbonate with a few microns of copper, gold or chrome. This very special metallic finish allows Melt to change and look totally different! Indeed, when the light is off, the metallic shade is opaque and reflective. Once the light is on, the lampshade becomes translucent like glass: the material is dressed in beautiful deep reflections, playing with light, colour, transparency and depth. PLEASE NOTE: This lamp can be used as a ceiling light or wall lamp. It is equipped with a long cable with a plug on the end (for mains connection). There is no switch: you have to plug in / unplug the cable to turn the light on and off. To use it as a wall or ceiling lamp, you need to cut the cable in order to connect it directly to the wall or ceiling. PLEASE NOTE: comes with a universal socket system (suitable for UK and EU sockets). You just need to unscrew the casing placed on the UK plug (with a screwdriver) to free the EU plug.
