Description
With its soft, rounded, organic shape, Melt is a beautifully warped lamp that evokes a drop of molten glass or metal! Its surface reminds us of the inside of a cast iron glacier or images of space. Tom Dixon has teamed up with the Swedish collective Front to create this “distorted” collection with its fascinating optical effect. When it's on, Melt transforms: it changes appearance and colour for a completely hypnotic effect! This deformed sphere is made of an innovative material: a clever blend of polycarbonate with a few microns of copper, gold or chrome. This very special metallic finish allows Melt to change and look totally different! Indeed, when the light is off, the metallic lampshade is completely opaque and reflective. Once the light is on, the lampshade becomes translucent like glass: the material is dressed in beautiful deep reflections, playing with light, colour, transparency and depth. Energy-efficient, the Melt wall light is equipped with an integrated LED module developed by Tom Dixon (3-year warranty). This LED module offers longer life expectancy, improved energy efficiency and performance, including the possibility of dimming and controlling the light. This integrated LED module is fully serviceable and replacement components are available if needed.
