Price History
Description
Melt is crafted using blow moulding and vacuum metallisation, creating a melted orb with unique luminosity. Featuring an integrated LED module, the orb sits on a tube-shaped base, producing a hot-blown glass effect when on and a mirror finish when off. Made in Germany, it evokes molten glass or a melting glacier.
Our Stylist Says
I love this floor lamp for its bold, sculptural silhouette and modern edge. Its glossy, reflective surface adds a striking visual element, making it a stand-out piece in contemporary or minimalist interiors. It works especially well in industrial, art deco, and eclectic spaces where its statement form can shine. To style it effectively, consider placing it in corners or beside seating areas where its height can create a visual anchor. Pairing it with neutral furnishings allows the lamp to be the focal point, while complementing metallic or glass accents can enhance its sleek aesthetic. Practical tip: its substantial base offers stability, but ensure the cord is subtly integrated into the overall styling to maintain a clean look.

About Tom Dixon
From Bass Guitar to Design Guru
Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.
By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.
But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.
Master of Materials
Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.
Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.
His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.
More Than Just Products
Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.
From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
