Description

Consisting of twelve MELT shades, the MELT Burst Chandelier in silver is a dramatic chandelier inspired by dripping molten glass and the interior depths of glaciers. Made in Germany and crafted from lightweight yet durable polycarbonate, each shade is produced using advanced injection blow moulding and vacuum metallisation. Available in many different finishes - Gold, Silver, Copper, Bronze, Opal and Smoke - it is compatible with Edison Screw (ES) or LED pendant fittings, making it versatile across different settings.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Melt Burst Chandelier for its bold, sculptural presence and modern edge. Its reflective surface creates a striking focal point, making it ideal for contemporary or minimalist interiors that embrace statement lighting. It works particularly well in high-ceilinged living rooms, open-plan kitchens, or even a commercial setting where you want to add an element of luxe. When styling, consider pairing it with neutral colour palettes to let the chandelier stand out, and keep surrounding furnishings sleek and understated to highlight its sculptural form. Practical tips include ensuring it’s installed at the right height to prevent glare and maximise its visual impact.

About Tom Dixon

Established in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British luxury design brand offering contemporary lighting, furniture, and accessories. Their innovative designs are perfect for those looking to make a unique, modern statement in their home.

From Bass Guitar to Design Guru

Tom Dixon isn't your typical designer. Starting as the bass guitarist for Funkapolitan, a twist of fate led him to the world of design after a series of motorbike accidents.

By the 1980s, he was gaining recognition with pieces like the iconic "S' chair for Italian giant Cappellini. By the 90s, his creativity brought him to the forefront of British design, even rejuvenating the Habitat brand.

But it wasn't until 2002 that the Tom Dixon brand was established, with its base in London's King's Cross. The brand, known for pioneering lighting, furniture, and accessories, quickly gained international acclaim and is now represented in 90 countries.

Master of Materials

Tom Dixon's genius lies in his ability to reimagine ordinary materials. From the early days, he transformed found objects and industrial materials into art.

Whether it's the allure of copper, the shine of stainless steel, the imperfections in hand-beaten brass, or the timeless nature of stone, Tom Dixon products always have a unique touch.

His signature products, from the Melt pendant inspired by molten glass to the instantly recognizable Beat, S Chair, and Wingback, can be found in museums like the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and MOMA in New York.

More Than Just Products

Tom Dixon's impact isn't limited to individual items. In 2007, he launched Design Research Studio, which has since redefined spaces around the world.

From the Drugstore Brasserie in Paris to reimagining the modern cruise experience for Virgin Voyages, his design agency creates immersive environments.
