Description
Minimalist and versatile, this medium-sized Unique Fine Weave Basket in a natural hue was designed by The Basket Room and handcrafted in Kenya. Handcrafted by skilled artisans, the basket has been woven using a wild-growing sisal grass. Originating from Kenya's Eastern Province, each basket is carefully woven by a collective of women led by inspirational chairwoman Dorcas Ndinda. Robust enough to store kindling and magazines, the basket would also serve as practical nursery storage for toys and books. A craft as old as mankind, basket weaving inspired Camilla and Holly to found The Basket Room and support local weavers. In supporting these communities in Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya and Swaziland, the workers benefit from fair wages, dignified working conditions and the ability to work alongside their other roles. Please note: Due to the handcrafted nature of these baskets, no two are the same.
